A Christmas Gathering and Thank You to the Farming Community
H&H Group is inviting farmers, their families and friends, and the wider community to its annual Christmas Carol Service and Christmas Market at Borderway on Thursday 11th December, held in support of the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI).
This special event is not only a fundraiser for RABI, but also a celebration of the festive season and an opportunity for the H&H Group to thank the farmers who work tirelessly throughout the year to produce the food that brings families together around the Christmas table. All are welcome to join this warm and festive evening, support an important cause, and celebrate the farming community at the heart of the festive season.
The evening begins with a mini festive market from 4.00pm, showcasing local produce and seasonal gifts including flowers, chocolates, cakes, honey, cheese, prints, cards and handmade crafts. From 5.30pm, ticket holders can enjoy a hot pork roll and mulled wine, included in the £5 ticket price, with all proceeds donated to RABI.
The Carol Service, led by Reverend David Newlove, starts at 6.30pm and features traditional readings, festive music provided once again by the Allerdale Fiddlers, and much-loved carols sung by those gathered. A highlight of the evening is the candlelit procession of the children (our ‘farmers of the future’) who step into the ring to gather around the crib, to sing Away in a Manger. This is a touching moment that perfectly embodies the heart of the season.
Reflecting on the service, Nina Oxley, Group Marketing Manager said, “Our annual Carol Service is a truly special occasion. It brings people together in a way few events can. Hearing the community in fine voice and watching the children walk into the ring with their candles to sing Away in a Manger are moments that stay with you. We are proud to support RABI, a charity close to our hearts and we look forward to welcoming everyone once again to share in the festive spirit with us.”
RABI continues to provide crucial financial, practical, and emotional support to farming people in difficult times, a role that remains vital across the agricultural sector.
Everyone is warmly invited to join the celebrations, enjoy the Christmas atmosphere, and support a cause that sits at the very heart of the farming world. So pop Thursday 11th December in your diary! Tickets are available now from Carolyn Charlton on 01228 406230.
