Strategic Opportunities for Landowners in Northumberland, County Durham and North Yorkshire
With deadlines approaching, H&H Land & Estates are calling on landowners in the North of England to take the time-limited opportunity to promote land for future development through formal Call for Sites consultations with their local authorities.
Northumberland County Council, Durham County Council and North Yorkshire Council are currently preparing their new Local Plans, and inviting submissions for land suitable for housing, economic development, town centre uses, mineral extraction, and environmental enhancement.
All of the H&H Land & Estates offices across the north of England are currently supporting landowners with development submissions to their relevant council bodies and with the imminent deadlines, H&H Land & Estates Director, Tim Sedgewick, urges landowners to act immediately: “For landowners, this is a crucial opportunity to unlock the development potential of your land and secure its place in future planning policy. This could be a chance to generate a wide range of diversified revenue streams, but the deadlines are tight, particularly for Durham, and we are offering our clients our full professional support to help ensure that they have the best possible chance of securing the right development opportunity in the right place within the time limit.”
CALL FOR SITES DEADLINES
Durham County Council describes Local Plans as a key part of the planning system, creating a framework for future development. The Call for Sites can include land for housing, infrastructure, community facilities, renewable energy infrastructure, and for employment or biodiversity enhancement.
Local Plans are regularly reviewed and updated, and landowners, developers, partners and members of the public are invited to put forward sites they believe are suitable for future development.
H&H Land & Estates can be contacted directly to discuss any plans on 0191 370 8530.
