To support clients in the North-West, H&H Land & Estates have appointed Esme Jackson to focus on Environmental Issues
Leading property and land agency is delighted to welcome Esme Jackson to strengthen its growing team supporting clients across the North of England. Cumbrian born and bred, 25 -year-old Esme joins H&H Land & Estates as Environment & Conservation Assistant, and brings a remarkable skill set including the prevention and management of environmental disasters.
Educated at Cockermouth School, Esme holds a degree in Environmental Geography from Stirling University and completed a Masters in International Disaster Management at the University of Manchester last year. She has been involved in multiple land conservation projects across Cumbria, and she is a dedicated volunteer with West Cumbria Rivers and the Cumbrian Wildlife Trust.
Both her qualifications and her personal commitment to the environment make Esme a perfect addition to the land agency team, says H&H Land & Estates Director Thomas Armstrong: “Environmental management is a major and rapidly growing facet of our service to clients across the region, and Esme brings a very particular dimension to the expertise we can offer. She also brings an understanding of the Cumbrian landscape and environment that underlines the local knowledge that makes our advice and support for landowners and farmers in the North West uniquely relevant and helpful.”
As a member of the Cockermouth Emergency Response Group, Esme has been deeply involved with local community support and education to help combat flooding, and in her spare time she’s a keen biker, skier and fell runner with a passion for connecting with the region’s wild environment.
“I feel driven personally to do whatever I can to conserve and enhance this extraordinary landscape we’re lucky enough to live in, and I was looking for a professional role in a progressive organisation that would allow me to build a career helping to promote environmental good in the landowning and farming communities that safeguard our landscape.
“I understand the practical balance that has to be achieved between economic development and conservation and I have been involved in two property development projects in Cockermouth that highlighted the importance of working within regulations to ensure environmental protection and the preservation of listed buildings. So, for me this is the perfect role and I am extremely grateful to H&H Land & Estates for giving me the opportunity to make a difference.”
