For Cancer Research UK and My Name’5 Doddie Foundation
H&H Land & Estates are delighted to report that their annual Charity Ball, hosted at the Ramside Hall Hotel & Spa, has raised a remarkable total of £12,615 for both the Cancer Research UK and My Name’5 Doddie charities which the H&H Group is supporting this year.
The 160 guests enjoyed an evening of Black-Tie glamour, beginning with a sparkling wine reception, followed by a three-course dinner, and ending with dancing to a live band. Additionally, the generous response to the centrepiece Charity Auction made the evening such a spectacular fundraising success, says the ball’s organiser, Louise Stones, Rural Surveyor for H&H Land & Estates.
“It was wonderful to see everybody enjoying the ball, but the main purpose of the evening was to raise as much money as we could for our two research charities, and our guests could not have been more generous. The total we raised made this one of the biggest fundraising events H&H Group has hosted over the past two years, and we are hugely grateful to the guests, and to the many people who donated such a lovely array of auction prizes.”
Compared with his well-known charm and wit by racing commentator Derek Thompson, the auction also included many kind donations added at the last minute and during the evening itself. Among them was the chance for two people to join Derek Thompson in the commentary box for the day at a local race meeting of their choice, a day’s shooting was donated by RTW Road Restoration Ltd, there was an overnight stay at the Ramside Hall Hotel, and a ride in a Ferrari. The greatest proportion of the £12,615 total was raised by the Auction, guests also contributed through ticket sales, a game of heads and tails, and a raffle.
“The Charity Ball is our most important fundraising event,” says Louise Stones, “but it’s also a unique opportunity for our guests to enjoy a special social occasion with a very serious and worthwhile purpose. In the current economic circumstances, it’s a great testament to the generosity of our prize donors and our guests that we’re now able to make such a significant contribution to the work of these two vital charities.”
Donations to the Auction published prior to the ball included:
