Wow! What a great night at the Cumbria Food Awards 2023 last night, held at Kendal College, recognising and celebrating the best of Cumbrian food and drink.
Congratulations to Torphenhow Farmhouse Dairy, based near Wigton who won the ‘Food Producer of the Year’ award which we were very proud to sponsor. Launched by Mark and Jenny Lee on their third generation family farm at the height of the pandemic, the company now produce six award-winning organic cheeses and butter using their pasture fed milk, supplied to customers UK-wide.
Mark Johnson, MD for H&H Land & Estates presented the award; also pictured was the awards host for the evening Irini Tzortzoglou who won the 2019 BBC MasterChef competition.
