Masham Agricultural Discussion Group – 9 March 2023
H&H Land & Estates Director, Tim Sedgewick, has been invited to discuss the history and heritage of the H&H Group and the outlook for the agricultural industry and livestock sectors, to the Masham Agricultural Discussion Group in North Yorkshire, early in March.
The Masham ADG is a highly respected forum for farmers and related agricultural business leaders in North Yorkshire for sharing views and ideas on the issues facing the industry. The group offers a platform for leading political and professional guest speakers, and members have presented the farming cause in Parliament on more than one occasion.
With heritage dating back to almost 150 years ago, the H&H Group Plc operates as a holding company with its subsidiary companies operational across livestock marketing, auctioneering, land management and property sectors, as well as commercial print, digital marketing, insurance.
Operating eight auction marts, its livestock trading company, Harrison & Hetherington, is the appointed auctioneer for all major beef, dairy and sheep breed societies throughout the UK. Borderway Mart in Carlisle is UK’s largest and leading livestock sale centre, handling 800,000 head of cattle and sheep annually, and providing a service to sellers and buyers from all geographic locations, including Europe.
H&H Land & Estates, which has just launched a specialist environmental and forestry division, is one of the North's leading Chartered Surveyors, Agricultural Land Agents and Valuers. As Director of H&H Land & Estates, Tim, who is based in its Durham office, will discuss the heritage of the Group, future plans and aspirations for the business, and what he believes is the outlook for the agricultural industry. Scott Donaldson Managing Director of Harrison & Hetherington will discuss the future of livestock trading, and Managing Director of H&H Insurance Brokers will give an update on Farm Insurance.
More than 90 farmers are expected to listen to what Tim and his colleagues from H&H have to say, and commenting Tim said: : “I am delighted to have been invited to speak at this noted discussion group and to have the opportunity to share our experiences with such a knowledgeable group of farmers at Masham.
