Fishing for Shakespeare, Hardys, Greys, and Sage
H&H Auction Rooms will be holding the final Boat, Fishing Tackle and Chandlery Sale of 2022 on Saturday 8th October. With over 300 lots going under the hammer, including fishing tackle, rods, and equipment from some of the foremost names associated with fishing, as well as a selection of boats and outboard motors.
There will be over 80 rods up for auction, suitable for both trout and salmon, carrying names such as Hardys, Greys, Sage, Icon, and Shakespeare. One of the highlights of the sale will be the reel section, with Hardys, the famous fly gear company based in Alnwick, Northumberland, featuring again, with Marquis models and a beautiful vintage Altex. As well as several items from the renowned brand Orvis, including waders, clothing, and lots of flies.
Stephen Farthing , Auctioneer at H&H Auction Rooms, said of the sale, “Since I started the boat and fishing sales six years ago, we have gained a strong following, and the sales have gone from strength to strength. This, our final sale of the year, has a tremendous line-up of lots and there are certainly many tremendous catches!
“With noted brands and names sailing through the doors there is quite literally something for everyone who enjoys life on the water or fishing the waters.
“Along with a wide selection of fishing rods and tackles from some of the UK’s most renowned manufacturers, there are the nautical essentials such as rope, anchors, chain fittings, and a plentiful supply of stainless screws.”
Those who prefer sea fishing will also be catered for with new and used reels multipliers, rods, and equipment.
For those who wish to take to the water, as opposed to fish in the water there are a range of boat types including a traditional clinker boat on its own trailer, a fibreglass lake boat, Walker Bay RIB and a collection of kayaks.
“This is your last chance to get your hands on the fishing and boating equipment you may need before next year,” Stephen concluded, “so make sure you come down on Saturday 8th October, to see what you can get your hands on.”
H&H Auction Rooms is one of the longest established auction houses in the north of England, holding weekly sales of antiques and household furnishings.
Viewing will start at 9am on the day of the sale. A catalogue will be available on-line nearer the time.
