This week one of Cumbria’s leading property companies, H&H Land and Estates, part of the H&H Group plc, widens its portfolio with the acquisition of Eden Lettings & Management.
The Penrith based property lettings and management company was established in 2009 by Shirley Thompson and Richard Towler, with a wealth of experience and an in-depth understanding of the property market. It is now recognised as the leading specialised property letting and management company in and around Penrith and the Eden Valley.
With the constant evolution of the letting and management market, Richard and Shirley decided it was in the long-term interests of EL&M, its clients, and tenants to merge their business with a company with a broad outlook, and they felt that H&H Land & Estate, with its considerable resources, extensive geographical reach and reputation, was best placed to promote growth whilst maintaining the traditional standards that they uphold.
Richard Towler will depart the letting sector while Shirley Thompson will use her extensive experience and local knowledge to lead the lettings business under the umbrella of H&H Land and Estates.
Commenting on the acquisition, H&H Group Chief Executive Officer, Richard Rankin said, “This is a great opportunity for both companies, and is one which is integral to our ongoing growth and commitment to this important market. Not only does it offer us a natural progression, but it also gives us the ability to build on the existing business, and to provide both existing and new clients an enhanced service with greater digital marketing opportunities and wider geographical coverage.
We extend a warmest welcome to Shirley, and recognise that we are gaining a tremendous member of the team, whose reputation and integrity have helped build EL&M into a successful business and we are all looking forward to working with her.”
With a highly specialised understanding of the property sector, H&H Land & Estates has a reputation as one of the leading independent rural property advisory firms operating across the North of England and the Scottish Borders. They have a well-established client base across their offices, in Carlisle, Kendal, Durham, Cockermouth and Keswick.
Richard Towler, Director for Eden Lettings Management, said; “Shirley and I are confident that the arrangements we are making are the best option for our business, our clients and their tenants.
EL&M will do everything to ensure that the transition takes place with no disruption to service, and Shirley is happy to talk about the new arrangements with any client who has questions. Meanwhile, we both wish to express our appreciation and thanks to clients for the support, instructions and business over the years that have enabled EL&M to grow and become an established feature of the Eden property scene.”
