Stephen Farthing invites you to bring out your boat, root out your rods, and get them down to H&H Auction Rooms Carlisle for its specialist annual sale
Entries are being invited for the forthcoming specialist sale of boats and fishing equipment to take place on Saturday 15 January at Borderway, Carlisle. This is the only sale of its kind in the north of England and not it’s not just boats and rods, but all things aquatic that are welcome, from water skis to sextants, kayaks and paddleboards to compasses. So, get digging in your attic, clean out your garage and make some money from your unused nautical items.
The Boat and Fishing Sales were the brainchild of Stephen Farthing, Auctioneer at H&H Auction Rooms who started them in 2016. Since then, they have been a firm favourite in the auction calendar and no doubt after being locked up in lockdown, people will be keen to get back outside and get on the water again.
“Sadly,” said Stephen, “Our 2021 sale had to be cancelled because of Covid, so I am expecting both a considerable number of entries and interest in this sale, at the start next year. From the outset, these sales have been very popular, and have attracted a range of boats, fishing equipment and nautical accessories. In the last sale there was tremendous competition for fishing reels and a beautiful small sailing dinghy sold for over £1,000.”
“For this sale we have some interesting items already booked in, including a classic Fletcher ski boat (estimate £300-£400), a GP14 sailing boat (estimate £200-£300) and a wide range of fishing rods, reels and chandlery.”
“With a growing interest in boating and fishing there has been a lot of support for these sales over the years, and we are very proud to offer a platform for enthusiasts to both sell and purchase their nautical and fishing equipment”
Entries for this sale will be accepted up until the 13 January and enquiries should be made directly with Stephen at the saleroom on 01228 406320 or email him direct
