Gardenalia including stunning architectural urns, rusty antique bikes, stone troughs, tables, chairs, and wrought iron work to go under the hammer at H&H Auction Rooms.
Sought after vintage garden items feature in the H&H Auction Rooms Architectural and Garden Salvage Sale taking place at Borderway Mart in Carlisle, this Saturday 2nd October.
With almost 200 lots, many of them unique, this sale features a range of architectural items including two very large and beautifully moulded terracotta urns on stands from the 19th century. There are several smaller urns and garden features, also a range of sandstone and glazed troughs. This section of the sale, however, is dominated by two stunning pairs of large stone troughs in exceptional condition which are expected to sell in the region of £1000 a pair.
These seasonal sales always uncover a range of distinctive, practical, or outlandish items, and this sale is no different. The lots are diverse and includes a range of items that will certainly add interesting features to any gardens or outdoor spaces. Other lots in the sale include galvanised ware, figurines, frogs, bird baths, and an extensive range of garden furniture.
One of the more unusual lots to have been put forward is a pair of vintage bikes. Stephen Farthing - explains; “We never know what people will bring forward to sell and for this sale we have been asked to sell two very old, antique, rusty bikes that will give any mechanic a task to repair or could make fun ornaments, or quirky stands for mobile signs. For me, it is always a pleasure to sell something like these bikes, as there will be so many wonderful stories associated with them and there is plenty of opportunity for imagination, with more ways than one to use them.
“These specialist sales are not just a highlight for the team at H&H they are also a highlight for the many people who come to attend as they never know what they will find. Often, they do not know what they are looking for until they see it. Certainly, this sale has a fantastic selection of items and as it is our last of the year, we are expecting there to be interest from buyers from both within and out of the area.”
Viewings are scheduled to be opened at 9am on the morning of the sale, and the sale will commence at 2pm. With the latest Covid-19 guidelines being followed.
