H&H Group of companies all support the Great North Air Ambulance Service (its nominated charity) and Nina Oxley, Group Marketing Manager raised £907 (plus charity aid) by taking part in the GNAAS virtual challenge Race to the Base.
She was inspired to take part in the challenge after interviewing one of their pilots Phil Lambert for the H&H Group podcast (www.hhgroupplc.co.uk/podcasts) and cycled the distance between the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle to the Langwathby base each week during November 2020.
Nina commented: “Almost every ride out was done before work, so I was starting out in the dark, with good old Cumbrian rain and wind most days. One day however, there was a beautiful sunrise which I kept seeing unfold, in the end I had to stop to take some photos. It struck me that if this challenge has helped to save one injured patient, they will also get to see another sunrise like myself... The challenge kept me sane throughout the November lockdown too!”
