H+H is undergoing a significant brand and organisational transformation, bringing its established businesses together as one unified organisation. One H+H connects seven areas of expertise through a shared identity, a clearer customer offer and a more joined-up way of working, rooted in our Rural Matters positioning.
Insurance and Financial Services help H+H customers protect what they have and plan for what comes next. We are looking for a Commercial Marketing Executive to connect these teams with the shared H+H marketing function and support more effective customer acquisition, nurture and retention.
This is an opportunity for a customer-focused marketer who enjoys using insight and data to improve communications. You will help make complex services more understandable and identify appropriate opportunities within H+H’s wider customer relationships.
You will help build a shared marketing function that connects specialist capability with commercial priorities, strengthening customer relationships and supporting growth across H+H.
The role
You will be the dedicated day-to-day marketing partner for our Insurance and Financial Services teams, working with sales colleagues, advisers and customer service specialists.
You will gather requirements, maintain the portfolio plan and prepare briefs for our functional Marketing Managers. Together, you will develop relevant customer journeys, from initial enquiry through to quotation or adviser appointment, with retention and renewal activity where appropriate.
Accuracy and good judgement are central to this role. You will coordinate required specialist approvals and ensure communications and customer targeting follow agreed processes. Qualified specialists retain responsibility for advice and compliance decisions.
Key responsibilities
Maintain the portfolio calendar covering acquisition campaigns, relevant renewal activity, client events and proposition launches.
Understand priority customer groups, commercial objectives, service capacity and barriers to conversion.
Gather customer insight and identify relevant triggers such as property purchase, asset investment, succession or business change.
Prepare briefs with clear audiences, approved service scope, objectives, response routes and approval requirements.
Work with the brand manager on approved segmentation, nurture journeys and appropriate customer communications.
Coordinate factual checks, required compliance review and version records before materials are released.
Support appropriate introductions from other H+H areas and confirm named commercial follow-up owners.
Track qualified leads, appointments, quotations, conversion and retention as relevant to each service, using results to improve activity.
Work closely with both functional Marketing Managers, the Content Creator / Designer and the other Commercial Marketing Executives to coordinate customer journeys, campaign briefs and approved communications.
Develop appropriate cross-selling opportunities with the other portfolio executives, using approved customer targeting and referral processes to connect customers with insurance, financial and wider H+H specialists.
Keep portfolio social media platforms current and publish approved content within H+H’s agreed channel strategy.
Plan portfolio content and campaigns with the functional Marketing Managers, agreeing audiences, topics, timing, objectives and cross-selling opportunities.
Coordinate expert input and assets with marketing colleagues; monitor responses and improve activity.
About you
We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded marketing professional who enjoys building relationships, understanding customer needs and using insight to drive better outcomes. You will be confident working with sales and advisory teams, comfortable taking ownership and able to navigate formal approval processes without losing sight of the customer or commercial opportunity.
You will bring:
· Experience coordinating marketing activity and writing clear briefs.
· An understanding of CRM, segmentation, lead nurture and customer retention.
· Confidence using customer feedback and campaign results to identify improvements.
· The ability to explain complex services clearly and gather accurate specialist information.
· Strong organisation, careful version management and respect for required approval processes.
· An understanding of the importance of data protection, customer permissions and appropriate approval processes in marketing communications.
· A collaborative approach and confidence questioning unclear requirements or unsupported claims.
Qualifications
A marketing, communications or related qualification would be beneficial; relevant practical experience is equally valuable. Experience of insurance, financial services or another sector with formal communications approvals would be an advantage.
What we are looking for
You will be customer-focused, analytical and thorough, with the confidence to spot opportunities and turn insight into action. You will understand the importance of developing long-term customer value and ensuring useful commercial opportunities reach the right specialist.
