Director/Chartered Surveyor

H&H Land and Estates is part of the H&H Group and is one of the leading Chartered Surveyors, Land Agents and Valuers in the North of England and Southern Scotland.

We are looking to appoint a qualified Director/Chartered Surveyor, t he successful applicant will be a qualified member of RICS or CAAV registered, a RICS Registered Valuer with significant experience of carrying out valuations, rural surveying and land and property management for a diverse range of clients.

Very strong management skills are essential, including personnel, future planning, visionary and visibly thinking.

The goal is to ensure the company is consistently moving towards fulfilling its short term and long-term objectives and does not diverge from its strategy guidelines.

As a Chartered Surveyor the role will include:

• providing a professional service as required to clients including all aspects of the purchase, sale and development of properties.
• assisting clients with financial advice on the viability of proposed expenditure and to provide them with as much analysis of information as they require in order to make informed decisions.
• improving the public perception of the company by representation at professional society or farmers’ group meetings as required and by face-to-face negotiations with clients.
• provision of valuation reports
• Compensation advice and general professional advice such as wayleave negotiations
• Payment Scheme and farm business management applications
• Estate management including landlord and tenant negotiations
• Advice on planning, diversification schemes, development and strategic planning
• Residential lettings and management

H&H Land & Estates has locations at Carlisle, Staveley, Durham, Penrith, Hexham and Northallerton and the wider role will include:

• Working with the other members of the team to develop and execute the company’s business strategy in order to obtain the goals of the Board and the shareholders.
• Ensuring company policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down in the company and they are followed at all times.
• Communicating and maintaining trust relationships with business partners and authorities.
• Monitoring the company’s financial performance and business ventures.
• Leading the development, direction and performance of H&H Land and Property in the fulfilment of the H&H mission.
• To liaise with the financial controller to prepare and agree monthly and annual budgets and forecast interim outturns.

The ideal candidate will be a strategist and a leader able to steer the company to a most profitable direction, whilst also implementing its vision, mission and long-term goals.

Proven experience at a senior management level with a thorough knowledge of market change and forces that influence the company together with a strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance are essential requirements.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to solve problems.
